Welcome To Our Blog

Marriage can be an interesting journey.   Early in ours, Runcie and I discovered  how much we enjoyed sharing the unique places each of us had traveled before we knew one another.   When I was younger, I'll never forget discovering the beauty of Adirondak Mountains and lakes in upstate New York.   I spent several summers at camp there.   Early in 2007, I came up with the brilliant idea of traveling there as a young family (Gigi had just turned 2, Elizabeth was 3, and Runcie was 5)   I looked into airline fares and different lodges, when Runcie excitedly announced, "Let's make it a road trip!!!"     After I realized he wasn't joking, I was coaxed into a five day road trip to Lake George, New York (over 2 weeks round trip).   To be honest, the only way he got me to agree to it was he promised me that if I was miserable I could fly home with Gigi.   Our journey was chronicled on our first travel blog and you can still see it here.  www.clementsroadtrip.blogspot.com

As most of you know, that trip began our love affair with our "Griswald-esque" road trips.   Several summers ago we trekked out to Colorado and soaked up summer in the beautiful West.    (We had planned to do a blog, but technological difficulties thwarted our efforts.  

This summer marks our third big road trip.   Our destination is the Northeast.   As we've always said, we are happy if we are the only ones who enjoy the blog (as it makes somewhat permanent place to store our memories and pictures), but any and all are welcome to enjoy it as well.   We've always appreciated when others comment with suggestions and tips.   So, without further ado,  here's our loose itinerary:

1. Friday 7/11 Drive to northern VA (about 2 hours outside of Baltimore)
2. Saturday 7/12 - Sunday 7/13  Baltimore
3. Sunday 7/13 -14 Philadelphia
4. Monday 7/15 NYC
5. Monday night drive to Boston
6.  7/16 -18 Boston and Cape Cod
7. 7/19-??? Maine
8. Dates TBD Lake George and Niagara Falls
9.   Pittsburg
10.  Cincinnati
11. Nashville
